Da Torredomini ad "AMBRA per AGAMENNONE"

Amber for Agamemnon. Indigenous and Mycenaeans between the Adriatic, Ionian and Aegean
Bari, Palazzo Simi and Museum - until October 16, 2010

The theme developed in the exhibition is that of the ancient commercial relations between 2000 and 1000 BC, between Puglia and eastern Mediterranean, particularly with the Mycenaean kingdoms overlooking the Aegean, Ionian and Adriatic routes involved also in search of valuable raw materials such as amber from the Baltic, intercepted lungo la via adriatica I 300 reperti di scavo in mostra provengono dalle principali aree archeologiche protostoriche della regione e da alcuni importanti siti lungo la rotta adriatica.

The exhibition is sponsored by: the Ministry of Heritage and Culture - Regional Directorate for Cultural heritage and landscape of Puglia - the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage of Puglia and the City of Bari - Department of Culture, with financial assistance the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Puglia, in collaboration, among others, the University of Rome "La Sapienza", Foggia, Salento and the Institute of Studies on Aegean and Near East - CNR Roma
